Livi’s unicorn “Charlie”

Dancing lessons…tried. Hated! Gymnastics lessons…tried.  Hated it!  Any other sports…nope!  Wouldn’t try it.  UGH!  I am very fortunate Livi is a great student (high honors 3.5 – 4.0) but I have always told her she “had” to pick a sport of some kind to help keep her motivated, learn team concept and sportsmanship.  She has tried many different activities and was never a cheerleader kind of gal.  She needed something that gave her a sense of accomplishment and pride.  So, she asked if she could start horseback riding lessons.

We were fortunate to find an amazing instructor near my work.  We will call her “the instructor”.  She is so freaking cute.  She is petite, tough, fair and a great teacher.  We tried a different instructor last year but Livi wasn’t given the opportunity to grow.  At first, Livi was nervous about riding.  She tried it in the past but never thought about making it “her” sport.  After learning some saddening and life altering news (again…later date) I needed her to love something.  I think the change in instructor was a complete blessing…
