Welcome home!

I have always had a secret love for decorating.  I believe creating in all areas of my life is my way of praying and reflecting.  All things in my home have a purpose, memory or emotional value.

Am I a hoarder? NO WAY!  I try to recycle those “wanted” meaningless things by gifting them to the Salvation Army or Goodwill.  At my lake house I had a vision to keep everything earthy and clean.  So, pouring rocks I got for $1 into a old sliver platter I had around the house became an easy way to hold my keys.  I placed the items on a table set I bought at Tj Maxx for only $60.  I did not want to alter the space with clutter it with un-needed useless decor.

I couldn’t help put place the only photo I have of my Father who passed away when I was in my early teens right at the entrance.  He welcomes me home and see me on my way protecting my home and family everyday.  I love this image!  A youthful, handsome, loving and proud man wearing his US Marine Corps uniform.  I love you and miss you Daddy!

I finished the space with tea lights and home fragrance oils and oil warmer from Bath & Body Works for about $20.  Keep in mind you too can create this sleek and clean look by keeping your eyes open at your local discount department stores and local thrift shops.  Happy hunting!
