I recently went on a camping adventure with Mini Me and couldn’t help but stop by one of the locally owned boutiques. (Confession: I cannot help myself! There is something about small homegrown mom and pop stores. That and antique shops are a must stop for me on any road trip!)
Well, while exploring the array of chotchkies (defined: small pieces of worthless crap, a decorative knick knack with little or no purpose.) came across SoapWoods crystal like soaps. (Another Confession: before I started my cosmetics line I had a home bath and soap line. It was a hit with all the stay at home military moms but I wanted more.)
There are described on what appears to be recycled paper as: Extra mild, long-lasting vegetable glycerin soaps infused with natural extracts: Aloe, Calendula, Chamomile, Lavender, 8 Essential Vitamins, Olive Oil, Jojoba Oil, Almond Oil (Redwood Burl also infused with Redwood essential oil; Cedarwood infused with Cedarwood essential oil).
I was immediately drawn to the iridescent beauty. Then I smelled it! Amazing! Cedarwood and its essential oil make clothes smell great, and on a practical level, they repel wool moths. Cedarwood has many aromatherapy applications. Calendula can be used in herbal remedies to heal wounds and soothe skin. Lavender and chamomile can be used in aromatherapy to reduce stress or to fight infections when applied to the skin.
When I purchase items like this, I cut them up into pieces. This way I use only a small section each time and still have a fresh piece for a later date.
I picked up this pink container at the Dollar Tree (yup for $1.) to secure my new obsession.
I place the other pieces in freezer bags, label and keep them in my vanity.
Now, you can purchase these on several online stores by searching SoapWoods on Google. Definitely a must try item if you are a soap connoisseur.
