Winter Storm and PJs

Okay… so what a glorious day!  Snowed in and loving it!  Confession: Yesterday I got everything done…except the workout!  BOO!  I wanted to ensure I got what I needed done for work before bed after cleaning up the house.  I did not get around to working out so I will count yesterday as my weekly rest day.  Today, I want to do a little yoga to ensure I am stretched and ready for my legit start to cardio and a some light weight training.

This morning I got up early even though work was cancelled.  I was able to use the morning and early part of the afternoon to completely catch up on misc. stuff for work.  While doing so, I decided to remain in PJs as I played one of my favorite movies from HS (now I am dating myself).

So, let me explain something.  When my Dad was diagnosed with cancer, they medically retired him.  He was told by the doctors that he had 5 years to live.  Well, a little over 5 years from being diagnosed he passed away.  It was a stressful and devastating time in my life.  Well, after his retirement there was no way Dad wasn’t going to work.  I remember seeing him with law enforcement books which provided information about what each specialty did of the police force.  This book was used to inform him of the different requirement in order for him to choose an area to study for in hopes of achieving a position.  Although he knew his time was limited, he never gave up.  He ended up working for a local company as security.  Something that allowed him to work, make extra money for the family, and gave him purpose all while sadly awaiting his clock to run out.  If I remember correctly, I saw the book and asked him if I could read it.  I recall seeing the movie “Silence of the Lambs” and thought, man that would be pretty bad ass to become an agent with the FBI.  Then, I read the book.  It disclosed background information about forensics, police officer duties, federal agent job descriptions, detective work, and several other jobs in law enforcement.  I thought, yes!  This is it!  God knows I am not book smart just street smart and continually request my genius 4.0 GPA 15-year-old daughter review my posts for grammatical errors before I posts… I believed this was my calling!  Yes, I am a celebrity makeup artist and cosmetics owner but that came later.  I wanted to be a federal agent!  I wanted to be that person who could take a case and dissect it like a puzzle.  One who could take each piece of the puzzle to create this vivid picture of facts and circumstances that would show TRUTH!  Always, remaining bias and fair.

Well, then I saw the movie Seven.  A 1995 American thriller film written by Andrew Kevin Walker and directed by David Fincher. The film stars included Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman, with Gwyneth Paltrow, R. Lee Ermey, John C. McGinley, and Kevin Spacey in supporting roles.  ink inside out-anna castillo-Motherhood-Winter Storm and PJs-January 2014

This movie sealed the deal!  I decided to enter the military and made my dream come true.  What better way to relax, reflect, re-energize my ambitions and purpose during a winter storm than chill with family in my PJs on a cold winter day and enjoy some classic films!  Grateful for the day off and that God has continued to bless me with investigative talent and makeup artistry ability!  THANK GOD!

Please stay safe today! Stay warm and God bless!

XOXO Besos,

Anna Castillo
