And the Countdown Begins

Today movers came to estimate the weight of the items in my home.  A sad, but grateful day! Yes, the military is moving me again. This time for a new and exciting opportunity! My whole life I wanted nothing more than to be a forensics investigator.  I remember the day I found my little piece of heaven.  Here is a glimpse…

The house was empty and I sat on the deck for 2.5 hours in a rusty old chair listening to God’s creations around me.  I took it all in.  I thought…this is it!  This is where I belong!

The house was built the early 1960’s by an electrician.  You would be amazed by all the history in this treasure chest of a home.  It still has all the original knobs and clever light installations.  I fell in love with the layout and this magnificent tree built right into the deck.  I can see all of the lake and the tree from my living room.

For as long as I can remember I wanted to live on the water.  Not a beach or near a river…a peaceful calm body of water like this one.  I thank you God for granting me this wish!

Of course I had to make it my own.  I painted the living room a bright white for a pure tranquil feeling.

I added a little hutch I found from the Salvation Army for $40 as my bar and placed it in the corner of the room.   I changed the knobs for a more feminine look, then added an antique bar set I found in a corner store from somewhere in WV.  Cost on that bad boy…$15.

My bedroom is a green, gray, and brown mix of old and new.  I found the bedroom set at a local furniture store for only $250.  I added an antique set of dressers found at the Salvation Army for $150 total (not photographed).  I added the orange and gray bedding for a bright bohemian feel.

Soon I leave my little peace of heaven for the next chapter in life. I am thrilled, honored, determined, and humble for all that I have! Living here has been a blessing! Buckle up! We are so looking forward to what comes next!inkinsideout-anna castillo-decor-And the Countdown Begins-April 2014inkinsideout-anna castillo-decor-And the Countdown Begins-April 2014

I chose to paint the master bath in a gray and placed black and white city photographs on the wall to remind me of my hometown (NYC).

In our INK…Cosmetics home office I added an area for reflection.  I grew up Catholic and do not plan on changing my religion, but I have traveled the world and fell in love with bits and pieces of religious practices.  Anything to keep me closer to all that is positive and spiritual.

I am so grateful I have been continued to be blessed!  I know my Father is with me everyday and I feel God in my heart.  I look forward to this new chapter!

For as long as I can remember, I wanted to be a forensics criminal investigator.  The time has come and I am standing with open arms!  Thank you God!

XOXO Besos,

Anna Castillo
