Makeup Tip: How to Use Shimmer

Ink inside out-anna castillo-Fashion and Beauty-Makeup Tip: How to Use Shimmer-January-2015 As  Makeup Artist I get the chance to work on some of the most beautiful people in the world.  Some are famous and some are just doing their thing in the professional world. Depending on what job I am hired for, I have to make decisions on what look I should do.  Shimmer, no shimmer, red lips, nude lips, etc.  If you are doing makeup for yourself you too can have the same dilemma.  Best thing is…makeup washes off, so just experiment and see what works best for you! 1.  Choose the right shimmer Ink inside out-anna castillo-Fashion and Beauty-Makeup Tip: How to Use Shimmer-January-2015 Bigger glitter flakes should be worn by younger (teenage-early twenties) girls, mainly because it can enhance fine lines and wrinkles.  For all other ages, we recommend you choose a subtle shimmer. Unless, you are doing a funky couture photo shoot, remember less is more. For the eyes:  Ink inside out-anna castillo-Fashion and Beauty-Makeup Tip: How to Use Shimmer-January-2015 Pick one color.  I love soft pinks or cream shades.  You can apply a small amount all the way around the eye for a soft, shimmery, smokey look. Then, line the top lash line with a jet black pencil liner, or try our cake liner with sealant. For the lips: Ink inside out-anna castillo-Fashion and Beauty-Makeup Tip: How to Use Shimmer-January-2015 Choose a light shimmer lip gloss in a nude shade for a pouty sexy look, or when applying a gloss with more color (reds/plums), make sure you line your lips first to prevent color bleed. 3.  Not for the entire face. Please don’t put shimmer on your forehead!  It can give a sweaty/greasy appearance. Only apply a light shimmer bronze with a fan brush on the cheekbones. You want a sweet angelic glow.
