Happy Harvest

Gratitude, Merci, Gracias, Thank you,
We do not celebrate thanksgiving. My mother taught us to not celebrate a day that led to the slaughter of millions, the destruction of cultures. So I learned Happy Harvest.

But this day can be a focus of more than our past. We should never forget it, in fact honor it but also use it as a place of growth and continued change in our lives.

As I’ve aged, I have allowed myself to use this as a day to be thankful for the many blessings in my life. It reminds me to remain in a place of appreciation. I take the time to look at the people in my circle, my family, and my own household.

I look at all that I have and hope to have and am thankful to work towards them!

I remind myself to approach things from a place of love. Today, as I lay on the beach with my family, watching the waves crash the shore; I am reminded of truly how blessed I am and always have.

What are your blessings? Where do you focus loving energy in your life? If you struggle with finding appreciation, start with something small and build from there.

I am appreciative for all of you who take a moment in time to read my words, enjoy my ramblings, and appreciate

Have a wonderful harvest and be thankful everyday!!

Until next time loves,

Mercia Cummings
